Another Fabulous Truck Raffle Party

Another fabulous Truck Raffle Party this
past Sunday at the all-new Villa Roma

Sunday was a fun day! The  wonderful, newly rebuilt Villa Roma was the beautiful back drop for this JACC fund raising holiday event. 410 people showed up and took a chance to see if luck was on their side, and it was!

Music by Albi and Darren set the mood for the afternoon. The Villa Roma served up a feast full of appetizers and the party was off and running. There were sixteen winners with Dave Weiss taking away the Grand Prize. Other lucky winners were:

Don Hauschild
Janet Haiss
Chad Mootz
Ken Reddard
Emil Lienau
Henry Hudson
Geruasi
K. Barnes
B. Semenetz
T. Roberts
Bonnie Hubert
Grubel
 Eric & Ruth
Bonnie Meyerer

The 17th Annual JACC Truck Raffle was a joyous event and all were treated to an impromptu  surprise, a performance from an Elvis impersonator.  The dance floor was packed and all who attended were indeed winners.  If you missed it this year don't make that mistake again!

Why is there a JACC Truck Raffle?...How did it come about? Another Sullivan County Community was host to a similar party.  Kathy and Dick Herbert had attended the event and thought it was a great fundraiser . Kathy felt it would be nice to have something like that in Jeffersonville,  The way I've heard the story someone told her Jeffersonville "couldn't do it " and it seems that was all it really took to get Kathy Herbert determined to make this event a Jeffersonville tradition. 17 years later  IT IS truly a tradition!

Alpaca Farm Day at Rosehaven Alpaca Farm on September 27th

Rosehaven Alpaca Farm is having their
Annual Alpaca Farm Day on September 27
and will be open to the public from 11-3pm.

200 people visited the farm last year and were introduced to the alpaca and how the farm operates. Alpacas have really only been in this country for the past 24 years, but have proven to be a great alternative livestock. The fiber makes luxury clothes as well as strong, hearty and warm socks, gloves, scarfs and hats. The 3rd cut of fiber has been used for housing insulation, rugs and wall hangings.

This year they will invite local vendors  to their farm and will have their yarn and products from their alpacas.

Come to Jeffersonville and visit these beautiful, gentle creatures.... make a weekend of it, the fall foliage here in the Catskills is a sight that should not be missed.

A Great Turn Out at the Weekend of Chamber Music Downtown Arts Day

A Great Turn Out at the Weekend of Chamber

Music Downtown Arts Day

We started the day with rain showers, setting up the tents, unpacking jewelry, photos,  paintings and pottery waiting for the weather to clear.  We had all checked the weather reports,  each one called for sunny skies until 7pm. In fact at about 11 the sky turned blue and all that was left of the morning deluge were a few well placed puddles.

The  Weekend of Chamber Music Downtown Arts Day was a big success.  We started the day with the first annual Quality Craft Fair. We had a steady crowd of shoppers from 11-3. Downtown Jeff was hopping and the opening day free concert and following reception at the Blue Victorian had packed crowds.
